Reverend Milton B. Reeves

Reverend Milton B. Reeves is the Pastor of the Rising Star Baptist Church of Fayetteville, Georgia. Pastor Reeves accepted his call into ministry and delivered his first public sermon in January 1996 at the New Macedonia Baptist Church in Riverdale, Georgia, under the leadership of Rev. Gerry T. Anderson. His first sermon came from Jeremiah 3 and was entitled, “I was Born for a Purpose”

In March 1999, he became the pastor, visionary and leader of the congregation. He has humbly served as pastor of the Rising Star family for nineteen years. Under his leadership, the Lord has blessed the ministry mightily and is continuing to manifest Himself through the work and service of Pastor Reeves at Rising Star and in the community. The church has grown in the Lord, ministries have been birthed, and the foundation has been solidified. He is a leader who leads by example. He is a proclaimer of the good news.

A native of Jonesboro, Georgia, he is married to Minister Gloria Reeves for 26 years and they have two daughters Aria and Teylor Reeves. Pastor Reeves is the son of the late Rev. T. V. Reeves and Mother Sallie Reeves. Most importantly, Pastor Reeves is a born again man of God. He has a great passion for people. Pastor Reeves is a teacher, preacher, and an anointed man of God. He loves to sing, pray, and preach the Word of God, telling men and women, boys and girls that the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life.

Minister Gloria B. Reeves

Born and raised in McDonough, Georgia, Gloria came to know the Lord at a very early age and accepted Him as her personal savior.  Her spiritual nurturing began with godly parents, the Late Deacon James and Mother Annie Barber, and at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church.  As a graduate of Morris Brown College, she pursued her interest in business by furthering her studies and earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She later attended the Victory Tabernacle Bible Institute.

 In 1999, the Lord placed the calling in the Reeves’ lives by planting Rev. Milton B. Reeves to the pastorate at the Rising Star Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Georgia.

 As a team for Christ, they work together faithfully in ministry to further the cause of Christ, that is, to seek and to save that which was lost.

 Minister Reeves shares diligently in the work of the Lord, as First Lady and a ministry leader of Rising Star Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Georgia.

 God called her to a greater work.  In November 2004, God sent her forth to proclaim His divine word and to spread the Good News through the preaching of the gospel. She was licensed at Rising Star under the leadership of her husband.

 She has been visionary in starting the Women of Purpose Ministry. This is a ministry designed to equip, empower and enhance women in the Body of Christ in their daily walk with the Lord by fostering a strong spiritual foundation needed in marriages, homes, jobs and daily living. In order to meet the spiritual needs of the women of the congregation as well as the community, the Women of Purpose Ministry has birthed other avenues to assist the sisters including Women’s Conferences, Women’s Retreats, Heart & Soul Monthly Women’s Bible Study, and S.H.A.R.E. (Sisters Helping All to Reach Eternity for young ladies 18-35).  Minister Reeves has the gift of encouragement and has been called upon to facilitate and share the gifts that God’s has birthed in her at many retreats, workshops, conferences and community events.  She is a member of the Georgia Association of Ministers’ Wives and Widows, Interdenominational - Atlanta Chapter, the International Association of Ministers Wives and Widows, and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.

 By profession, she has been employed with the Federal government for 30 years.  She is a Human Resources Specialist with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. 

 Minister Reeves and her husband share in the love of two beautiful daughters: Aria (21) and Teylor (19).

 More importantly than all else, Minister Reeves believes in using everything that she has for the work of the Lord. She is particularly interested in teaching the word of God, Christian education, event planning, church administration and reaching out to others. Her life’s philosophy is, “if I can help just one somebody as I travel along, then my living will not be in vain.”
